[Resolved] Mailbox Data

All mailbox restores have successfully completed.

We are continuing to process the restores and currently anticipate completion by end of business on Friday, May 22, 2015.

We have identified all mailboxes that had reconnection issues, and have recovered all of the missing email messages. We will be restoring these messages in the following manner:

1) The majority of users will have their messages restored directly to their Inbox folder.
2) Remaining users who have a larger number of messages will have them restored to a folder titled "Restored Email - 20150521."

After completing the work associated with reconnecting users to their mailboxes, a small subset of users are not yet able to view all of their email. We are currently working through these issues with the affected users to restore all mail that was missing from the initial reconnection.

Our next update will be posted by Wednesday 1:00pm EST.

We have reconnected mail for all affected users, however, a small number of users may still have incomplete mailboxes. We are working on cleaning up these remaining mailboxes, and will post a revised ETA as soon as it becomes available.

We are still working to meet the previously predicted ETA of 3:00AM EDT. However the reconnect process is taking longer than originally predicated. Currently the projected ETA is by 12:00PM EST tomorrow. There is no impact to receipt of new mail, and users can send mail normally while the work is being performed.

We identified an issue where some of the reconnects of mail items performed on Sunday were not completed. We are addressing those mail stores as quickly as possible. Additionally, some users still cannot view messages from Sunday-Monday and those are being connected in parallel. Expected completion of all remaining mail items is currently 3am EDT.

While we have successfully reconnected mail for the majority of users, we are aware of a few isolated mailboxes that are still not able to view older mailbox data. Our team is testing a process to reconnect those mailboxes. We will post an update as it is available.

We have successfully connected existing mail data to the affected mailboxes. Email received from Sunday morning to today is still synchronizing, and will take additional time to complete. We will post an ETA when it is available. Sending/receiving remains unaffected.

On Sunday morning, we performed a maintenance to our aggregate routing layer in our Chicago (ORD) datacenter. Upon completion of the maintenance, approximately 1% of hosted mailboxes lost connection to their existing mail data. Our Engineers have initiated an operation to reconnect these mail stores to the affected mailboxes. We are currently at 40% completion and expect all connections to be completed by mid-day tomorrow. We are actively pursuing alternative methods to accelerate this process and will continue to post updates as available. All users can still send/receive new messages.

Thank you for your continued patience as we worked to find a resolution to this issue. Our engineers are working to implement a fix that will restore the messages of the affected mailboxes to their original state, but we want to inform you that this process will take some time. While there is no current eta, we will continue to post updates until this issue has been resolved.

Earlier today we performed a maintenance on our Hosted Email environment. Upon completion of this maintenance we received reports that some users were unable to view email data in their email accounts. We are currently investigating this issue and are actively working towards a solution to ensure all mail data is viewable again.

We have received reports that some users are unable to access their mail data from within their mailbox. This does not affect the ability to send and receive emails. Our engineers are currently investigating the situation and we will update you once further information is available.
